About Yasuo Arai & the Heavens Four

The "Heavens Four" is Japans premier jazz band.
The current official name of the band is "Yasuo Arai & The Jazz Band Heavens Four".
The band is active not only in Japan but also in the world, and many jazz lovers may know them.

The lead singer is Yasuo Arai, whose MC (MC, commentary, etc.) is very popular.
Yumi Arai, the leader of Heavens Four, plays piano (and sings while playing). The saxophone, bass, and drums are double-cast around these two.
Toshiyuki Ando plays Tenor Saxophone.
Mikio Oto and Yoshinobu Yada on Wood Bass.
Naohisa Hatakeyama on Drums.
Izumi Kato on Guitar.

Heavens Four was introduced in China by translating it as "天堂四人組" but this is a proper noun and has nothing to do with the number of people in the band.

In 2008, the band represented Asia at the Beijing Olympics, the largest sports festival in Asia, and their success was reported in 202 countries in 43 languages.

"A Japanese jazz band brings excitement to the Olympics in Beijing."

The band still performs overseas at least three times a year and is active in Tokyo and throughout Japan.
