He still travels abroad four to five times a year on business trips, interviews, etc., as far away as Rio de Janeiro in South America to explore the roots of bossa nova.
I often go to New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. In San Francisco, he performs live every year and has been interviewed by local TV.
Last year, he and his wife participated in a golf competition of the Japanese Association in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In October 2002, the band was officially invited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for an event commemorating the 30th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Japan and China, and gave a large-scale Jazz performance in Beijing. This was the first time in China's history of several thousand years that a jazz band was officially invited to perform at the National Folk Orchestra Theater in Beijing, and the event ended with a great success.
Perhaps due in part to this recognition, Yasuo Arai and the Heavens Four were the only jazz band from Asia to be officially invited by the Chinese Ministry of Culture to perform at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Arts Festival, among the many other groups from Japan and around the world.
On August 17, during the Olympics, the performance was held at the National Theater near Tiananmen Square. The National Theatre near Tiananmen Square was filled to capacity with more than 1,000 seats, all specially invited guests from various fields, and the international event was a great success. He also played a major role as a special cultural envoy.

He currently owns three Mercedes, a Jaguar Vanden Plas & W6, a Cadillac Eldorado convertible, and a Chevy van.
The Cadillac Eldorado in particular, of which there are only a few in Japan as well as in the U.S., is a great value, and together with the Mercedes 1951 (two in Japan), is often called upon for photo shoots.
It was this Cadillac that was used in an hour-long program featuring popular young actor Katsunori Takahashi and actresses touring famous places in Shin-Yokohama.

He has been playing more than 50 rounds a year for more than 30 years, and until a few years ago he had been playing in competitions in various parts of Japan, the U.S., Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and other countries.
He says that he has no time to waste and limits his annual club purchases to 500,000 yen, but what is the truth?
His wife says, "He doesn't say anything, he won't listen to anything I say anyway, so I just leave him alone. She says, "I'm not going to say anything.

[Cooking]

As many people know, his knife skills are professional, and he also likes wine and other alcoholic beverages, so he can cook anything. He also takes down fish by himself and is very fast.
He loves walking around the world, eating his way through Nice, Monaco, and Rome in the south of France, creating PIZZA that is just as good as the real thing. Eating and walking around the world has become one of his favorite pastimes. His dishes are all authentic, such as seafood salad and carpaccio with calamari, which he makes himself.
When he is at home, his wife does not cook breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and she has never washed the kitchen or cleaned up afterwards.

[Horse Riding]

He rides horses in the Yatsugatake and Kobuchizawa areas when he has free time, although he does it less frequently these days.

He is not only a professional rider, but also a hobbyist and a fun-loving person, and he always takes his junior members to New York to take care of them in between work meetings.
In an industry where male vocalists are scarce, he is a valuable presence.
Sales of the CD series "Eldorado" Vol. 1 to Vol. 8 have been going well, and he is currently in talks to produce Vol. 9.
